12. What if my problem is not solved by these FAQs?
Your file names should start with our 7-digit URN (unique reference number). This will ensure they are recognised instantly on arrival. You may add up to 12 other alphanumeric characters after this. If you don't have a URN, please call your copy contact at News International, who will give it to you.
2. What if I can't deliver my file by the deadline?
If we receive your file after the copy deadline, we cannot guarantee that it will be published as expected. It is the advertiser's responsibility to send it on time, and to specification. If you have any problems with either, please call your copy contact at News International - they will do whatever they can to help.
3. Can I send my file in early?
Yes, if it is clearly named. Even if it is a week before deadline. We would rather that than leave it to the last minute and find a problem with it.
4. What if I want to send replacement copy?
Call your copy contact at News International and tell them, otherwise it is possible your original copy will be published. We suggest you add 'sub' after the filename, so we can distinguish it from the original one.
5. Where can I find technical support?

An ICC profile is a set of data that helps
you to get the correct colour reproduction when you input images
from a scanner or camera and display them on a monitor or print
them. By conforming to this specification profiles may be exchanged
and correctly interpreted by other users.
You should download the ICC profile listed for the publication for
which you are preparing artwork (see Sizes and Specifications), and embed it
in the application you are using , e.g. Adobe Photoshop.

For a guide to installing ICC profiles on a Mac, see here
PC users should dowload the zip file from Sizes and Specifications . Open the zip folder and drag the ICC profile onto the desk top. Right-click the profile and choose install. Close PhotoShop and restart. The profile should be available for use from the profile list.

7. Why can't I just email my file to you?
There are too many potential problems, including these. We don't have a team of people to check files and fix them, so this is designed to protect us and you.
8. Why does it matter if I send it to Classified or Display?
The main reasons are that the column widths and deadlines are different.
9. Can you guarantee my ad's position in the publication?
The short answer is no. After we have processed all our advertising copy, breaking news often forces our editorial teams to change the page plans. This sometimes affects the position of ad bookings.
10. What should I do if my advertisement prints poorly?
Due to our state-of-the-art, computer-controlled print facilities, this is happily a rare occurrence. If there is a problem, send a complete printed copy of the offending publication, with a covering letter explaining the problem, to:Melanie Clarke, Processing Resolutions Manager, Ad Customer Services, 3 Thomas More Square, London E98 1XY, as soon as you can (Tel. 020 7782 7519). We will investigate it and report back to you.
11. Could News International typeset my advert for me?
If you are a direct advertiser who does not have the facilities to produce your own artwork, please let us know when you book your space. If our free service with its modest selection of fonts is adequate for your requirements, send us your text and graphic in good time and we will send you a proof. On the other hand, if you need a full-blown design service and extra proofs, you will need to use a commercial designer.
